Making His last words our first priority
Jesus' last words to His disciples were "go and make disciples of all nations." At The Rock Place that shapes three things we do every week: worship and study, evangelism and outreach, and multiplication and sending, where we mentor disciples and emerging leaders as they start new churches and ministries. Church planting is not about adding locations. It is how we carry out our discipleship mission in new communities.
Many outreach efforts stop at the first conversation. Ours does not. Everyone we meet is invited into the Discipleship Factory, a clear four-phase pathway built on Scripture, community and mentorship.
Following Christ: the basics
Assurance of salvation, identity in Christ, the gospel.
Spiritual rhythms
Prayer, Scripture study, worship, fasting, stewardship, daily obedience.
Character & community
Christlike character, relationships, serving, forgiveness.
Equipped to disciple others
Evangelism, mentoring, leading groups, multiplying disciples.
Each phase runs 13–16 weekly one-hour classes on Sunday, with group discussion, guided practice, weekly assessment and accountability. Phase 1 is open to everyone, from new believers to lifelong Christians. A virtual track on Zoom is in development so the pathway can reach every plant.
The program is led by Pastor Myke Arogula (Chancellor), Bro. Kess Eburu (Dean) and Minister Lydia Ovbiye (Head of Department).
Disciples Making Disciples, Levels 1–3
Classes are taught from the Disciples Making Disciples series by The Timothy Initiative, a global disciple-making and church-planting movement that has planted tens of thousands of churches across 42 countries. Level 1 alone covers the Spirit-filled life, sharing your story and God's story, assurance of salvation, prayer, Discovery Bible Study and life in the church.

What it costs to start a new church
Here is an illustrative budget for launching one new church: the equipment it needs to hold services, plus its first three months of operation while local giving grows. Actual costs vary by location, and gifts to the Missions - Church Plants fund are directed where the need is greatest across our plants.
